SACRAMENTO – Citing the need to protect taxpayers from a union-led campaign to raise taxes in California even higher, the California Republican Party today released a new ad entitled “Budget Bully” taking union officials to task for the blatant use of threats and intimidation.
The ad highlights the Service Employee International Union’s (SEIU) latest attempts to use threats and intimidation to strong arm the state legislature into adopting even higher taxes on Californians, only months after enacting the largest tax increase in California history.
“Instead of relying on common sense and economic reality, the union-led campaign for higher taxes is based on a foundation of bullying and threats to lawmakers,” said state Republican Chairman Ron Nehring. “Californians need to know about these threats and the campaign of intimidation being waged by union officials. In this case, they can see it with their own eyes.”
